Uzbek NGO launches programme to promote women's business education

TASHKENT -- The Tashkent-based Business Women's Association of Uzbekistan (Tadbirkor ayol) NGO is set to teach business skills to Uzbek women, the Uzbekistan National News Agency reported Thursday (July 12).

The "Programme for Improving the System of Business Education for Women in Uzbekistan in 2018-2020" is aimed at improving women's business education and developing women's entrepreneurship across the country.

The two-year programme will be implemented in 180 districts and cities across the country in co-operation with relevant state agencies.

It will focus on four areas: "Business planning and financial literacy", "Efficient business management", "Competitiveness and product promotion on the market" and "Features of doing business in Uzbekistan: the woman, the family, business, traditions and modernity".

The programme is expected to train 78,000 women in business fundamentals and create more than 50,000 jobs, with a focus on rural women enduring difficult economic and psychological situations.
