BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz authorities placed a police investigator in Bishkek under house arrest for allegedly accepting a bribe, 24.kg reported.
The investigation service of Bishkek police detained the investigator, who was assigned to the capital's Sverdlov District, said Cholponbai Satybaldiyev, deputy chief of the investigation service, said at a news conference Monday (July 16).
The State Service for Combating Economic Crimes has already started investigating the police officer, he said.
"A criminal case has been opened against the investigator. An in-house investigation was also conducted. As a result, [we] decided to dismiss the policeman," said Satybaldiyev.
