KYZYLORDA, Kazakhstan -- Kazakhstan is set to install a solar plant in Zhalagash District, Kyzylorda Province, Kazinform reported Wednesday (August 15).
The new plant will be spread out over 164 hectares of land and have a capacity of 30MW. The goal is to reduce Kyzylorda's energy dependence on other provinces and to keep power bills affordable, according to officials.
Investors are providing the 12 billion KZT ($33,000) needed for the plant.
The project is expected to start this year and to end in 2019. The plant will create an estimated 15 jobs once it starts operation.
