ASTANA -- Nuriddinjon Ismoilov, the speaker of Uzbekistan's lower chamber of parliament, and his Kazakh counterpart, Nurlan Nigmatulin, inked a co-operation agreement Monday (November 26), Kazinform reported.
The agreement was signed as part of Ismoilov's official visit to Kazakhstan, the first ever by a speaker of the Uzbek Legislative Chamber.
Under the memorandum, the two sides agreed to develop inter-parliamentary co-operation and speed up the ratification and enactment of treaties between the two countries.
"Thanks to efficient joint activity based on the mutual understanding and friendship of [Kazakh President] Nursultan Nazarbayev and [Uzbek President] Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have established trustful political dialogue in all spheres," said Nigmatulin.
