US delegation eyes new economic co-operation agreement with Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK -- A US delegation met with Kyrgyz Economy Minister Oleg Pankratov Friday (December 14) in Bishkek, 24.kg reported, citing the ministry's press service.

Attendees included US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Donald Lu, US Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director for Kyrgyzstan Gary Linden and Eric Rudenshiold, the senior officer in charge for Central Asia and Kyrgyzstan in the USAID Asia Bureau.

The sides pointed out the high potential for economic co-operation between the two countries and expressed their readiness to create new opportunities for Kyrgyz and American businesses in a wide range of areas.

"The parties discussed holding a business forum in September 2019 to familiarise American business with the investment opportunities of Kyrgyzstan and to establish mutually beneficial contacts between the business communities," said the ministry.

The signing of a new co-operation agreement between the United States and Kyrgyzstan soon will boost trade and economic co-operation as well as increase the number of US assistance programmes to Kyrgyzstan, according to the US side.

It's the competitors in the picture now. China and Russia. So, USAID emissaries have become increasingly active. I have worked with a USAID contractor organization for 17 years and I can see the direction this co-operation is going in... Are the two revolutions not enough for us???
