TASHKENT -- The corruption trial of Rashidjon Kodirov, former Uzbek prosecutor-general, began Monday (January 7) in Tashkent, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported Tuesday (January 8), citing sources close to the Uzbek government.
Kodirov was arrested last February. He faces charges of extortion, bribery and abuse of office.
