Kyrgyz MP asks for speedy adoption of pact with US
BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz member of parliament Kanybek Imanaliyev urged accelerated adoption of an agreement with the United States, 24.kg reported Tuesday (January 15).
The previous Kyrgyz government cancelled a co-operation pact with the United States in 2015, and this new proposed agreement is a replacement.
Imanaliyev made his appeal during a session of parliament's Committee on International Affairs, Defence and Security.
"During our years of independence, only four or five countries have given us grant aid, including the US," he said. "We must speed up the signing of relevant documents with America."
