TASHKENT -- High-level officials from Tajikistan Railways and Uzbekistan Railways met in Tashkent Thursday (January 24) to discuss co-operation, Asia-Plus reported Friday (January 25), citing the Uzbekistan Railways press office.
The two sides discussed increasing the volume of transit cargo and potential discounts on transit shipping rates in 2019.
The officials signed a protocol of intent at the end of the meeting.
Uzbekistan last year cut transit shipping rates for Tajikistan along the Keles-Kudukli, Khojadavlat-Kudukli and Karakalpakstan-Kudukli rail routes.
