Most Kyrgyz citizens see extremism as a threat, according to survey

BISHKEK -- A survey conducted in Kyrgyzstan by the International Republican Institute at the end of 2018 found that about half of those interviewed consider violent extremism a serious threat to their country, 24.kg reported Thursday (February 21).

Forty-nine percent of the 1,500 respondents over the age of 18 called it a serious threat, while 24% called it "relatively serious". Another 10% said they did not know. Only 4% called it a "minor" threat.
