BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani met in Bishkek Friday (April 19) to discuss regional security and economic ties, 24.kg reported, citing Jeenbekov's press office.
Rabbani's visit, his first to Kyrgyzstan, will strengthen Kyrgyz-Afghan co-operation, Jeenbekov said at the meeting.
"We are grateful that Kyrgyzstan supports the position of Afghanistan within international organisations. You can be sure that Afghanistan will always support the positions of the Kyrgyz Republic," Rabbani said.
The two sides also talked about support for ethnic Kyrgyz in Afghanistan.
