JALAL-ABAD PROVINCE, Kyrgyzstan -- Kyrgyz authorities seized more than 44kg of heroin in Kara-Kul, Jalal-Abad Province, 24.kg reported Monday (August 12), citing the Interior Ministry (MVD).
The local police department received a tip that a truck in Uch-Korgon village contained a large shipment of drugs, said the MVD.
Police searched the truck and found 93 bricks of heroin weighing 44.3kg. The heroin was hidden in a load of fruit.
The narcotics were meant for Russia and Europe, said investigators.
Police are searching for the truck's owner.
