OSCE teaches Tajiks, Afghans to protect borders

DUSHANBE -- The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) June 1 in Dushanbe wrapped up two separate training courses for Tajik and Afghan border guards, the OSCE said in a statement that day.

Nineteen Afghan border police officers took a four-week-long course on patrolling and leadership, while 10 Tajiks and 10 Afghans concluded a three-week-long joint operational planning workshop.

Topics included decision-making and topographical map and satellite imagery use.

Foreign and Tajik instructors conducted the workshops.
