KARACHI -- Police recently killed five criminals in Karachi, media reported June 3.

Police June 2 in Mehran Town killed three members of a banned outfit, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Junaid Sheikh said, according to Dunya TV.

Police June 2 in Pak Colony killed two gang members in a shoot-out, Dunya TV reported. Two suspects escaped.

Police recently detained two suspected terrorist operatives in a raid in the Defence Phase-II area, police said.

Meanwhile in Pashin District, Balochistan, police June 1 arrested Sher Ali, a retired deputy superintendent of the Killa Abdullah District deputy commissioner's office, according to The Express Tribune.

She Ali is accused of helping Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansoor obtain a false ID card, according to the Federal Investigation Agency. Mansoor was killed in May.
