Afghan parliament rejects electoral reforms

KABUL – The Wolesi Jirga (lower chamber of the Afghan parliament) June 13 rejected electoral reforms proposed by President Ashraf Ghani, TOLO News reported.

Twenty-seven of 249 members voted in favour of the reforms. They include an effort to hold parliamentary elections, which were supposed to occur in 2015, this year.
