Kazakh terrorist blows self up during arrest

KARAGANDA PROVINCE, Kazakhstan -- A Kazakhstani terrorist June 26 in Gulshat, Karaganda Province, blew himself up when authorities tried to arrest him, the National Security Committee (KNB) said in a June 29 statement.

The dead terrorist was part of a group"that planned to commit terrorist acts with improvised explosive devices", the KNB said, adding that nobody else was injured when he killed himself.

Authorities arrested the other suspects and seized bomb parts and other evidence, the KNB said.
