Kyrgyz police learn modern investigating techniques

BISHKEK -- The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Kyrgyz Interior Ministry and Kyrgyz State Judicial Academy are conducting a series of three-day training sessions for police on investigating homicides, the OSCE said in a July 20 statement.

The sessions are taking place from July 14 through August 6 in Bishkek, Balykchy and Osh and will train 150 police officers. They are learning how to investigate homicides committed with explosives, firearms and knives, the OSCE said.

Topics of the training include how to question suspects and witnesses, conduct forensic analysis of evidence, and study crime scenes.
