Staff Report

BISHKEK -- Thirty Kyrgyz police officers from all seven provinces took part in a July 18-30 training seminar at Issyk-Kul, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) said in a statement.

The OSCE helped the Interior Ministry (MVD) and Kyrgyz Association of Women Police conduct the seminar, which covered the "regulatory and legal changes" resulting from recent police reform.

Those reforms include "co-ordination of actions by police and civil society in ensuring public safety and preventing crime", the OSCE said.
