Kyrgyz border troops find munitions

BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz border guards August 13 found munitions in the possession of a Kyrgyz citizen, the State Border Service (GPS) said in an August 13 statement. The seizure occurred at the Karkyra road border crossing.

Border guards searching the Kyrgyz man's car found munitions including 69 bullets in two calibres, the GPS said.

The Kyrgyz motorist was trying to smuggle the munitions into Kazakhstan, the GPS said. He is in police custody for further investigation.
