DUSHANBE -- Tajiks August 9-11 in Dushanbe learned about "the importance of religious dialogue and the role of religious leaders in efforts to prevent and counter violent extremism and radicalisation that lead to terrorism (VERLT)", the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) said in a statement last week.
The OSCE-organised course brought together personnel from law enforcement, religious committees and civil society. Two international trainers stressed the positive contribution of education about religion and of religious dialogue in curbing violence.
