DUSHANBE -- Tajiks September 20 held a roundtable in Farob on land mine threat awareness, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) said in a statement that day. The OSCE and the Tajikistan National Mine Action Centre co-operated in organising the discussion, which came after a four-month-long awareness-raising campaign.
Tajikistan still has thousands of land mines in the countryside left over from the 1992-1997 civil war. Tajikistan is a signatory to the Mine Ban Treaty.
