More than 150 suspected militants extradited to Tajikistan this year

DUSHANBE -- This year, as of September 1, 151 Tajik citizens accused of terrorism have returned home, AsiaPlus.tj reported September 20, quoting Interior Minister Ramazon Rakhimzoda, who addressed a September 19 gathering of Interpol Project Kalkan participants. Kalkan fights terrorism in Central and South Asia.

The gathering brought together law enforcement personnel from 13 countries.

The returnees include 133 members of the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL), Rakhimzoda said. Of the 151 returnees, 75 confessed to their crimes and were pardoned, he added.
