AKTOBE, Kazakhstan -- A court in Aktobe recently sentenced the manager of a gun store to one year in prison for negligence that proved deadly, Nur.kz and Tengri News reported September 23.

Artem Gorlayev was convicted of failing to secure the firearms on sale in his store. On June 5, terrorists invaded his store and stole 18 hunting rifles. They killed four people inside or near Gorlayev's store, before authorities killed or arrested all the suspected attackers, Tengri News reported. Sources differ on whether the terrorists killed seven or eight Kazakhstanis in all.
