BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev and State National Security Committee (GKNB) Chairman Abdil Segizbayev October 5 in Bishkek conferred on the country's security challenges, Atambayev's press office said in a statement. Segizbayev told Atambayev about the GKNB's work to protect national security and to step up the fight against terrorism.
"Modern-day challenges and threats require the security agencies to take adequate measures ... against terrorism, extremism and other crimes," Atambayev told Segizbayev.
