BISHKEK -- The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) awarded certificates of completion to 14 employees of the Kyrgyz State Centre for Judicial Forensic Analysis, UNODC Kyrgyzstan co-ordinator Vasilina Brazhko said in a statement.

The 14 employees, who received the awards on December 23, attended a November 23-25 course in Bishkek on training in laboratory operations standards known as ISO 17025, the general requirements for competent operation of testing and calibration labs, Brazhko said.

The UNODC has co-operated several years with the Kyrgyz government on developing forensic lab personnel's skills, as part of the UNODC's 2015-2019 programme for aiding Central Asian states.
