KARA-SUU DISTRICT, Kyrgyzstan -- Eight active members of the extremist organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir were detained last Friday (February 10) in southern Kyrgyzstan, 24.kg reported Tuesday (February 14) citing the Kyrgyzstani Interior Ministry (MVD) press service.
The Hizb ut-Tahrir members were detained in a cafe in Kara-Suu Distrct, where they had organised a meeting after Friday prayer.
Upon searching the homes of three of the detainees, police found extremist and terrorist literature and videos.
The police are continuing the investigation.
