DUSHANBE -- Tajik border guards killed eight Afghan smugglers and detained five Afghan suspects in the first three months of 2017, Avesta.tj reported Thursday (April 13), quoting Border Troops spokesman Mukhammad Ulugkhojayev.
Officials produced those figures during a session of the Border Troops leadership, said Ulugkhojayev.
During that period, the Border Troops arrested eight Tajiks accused of drug smuggling. In conjunction with other security forces, they seized 340kg of drugs.
