DUSHANBE -- A court in Dushanbe sentenced an "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) recruiter to 15 years in prison, Avesta.tj reported Thursday (April 27), quoting the Tajik General Prosecutor's Office.
The defendant, J. Khakimov, became radicalised while working abroad and recruited five Tajiks to fight for ISIL in Syria or Iraq from 2013 to 2016.
After he came back to Tajikistan, he recruited another five Tajiks to fight for the terrorist group.
