ISSYK-KUL, Kyrgyzstan -- The Issyk-Kul Provincial Court April 27 sentenced a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT) to three years in prison, the Kyrgyz State National Security Committee (GKNB) said in a statement Thursday (May 4).
The reason for delaying the announcement was not given.
Authorities arrested the defendant last September in Karakol. They identified him as M. M., born in 1974. The court convicted him of acquiring and distributing extremist materials.
