DUSHANBE -- The Tajik Drug Control Agency (AKN) Monday (May 15) convened the first session of its annual anti-drug operation, the AKN said in a statement Tuesday (May 16).
This year's Operation Kuknor is scheduled to take place in two stages: May 20 through August 30 and September 1 through November 30.
Representatives of the Tajik Security Council, presidential staff, and various law enforcement agencies attended the meeting. Topics included the establishment of fixed and portable check-points on roads that drug traffickers use and the formation of investigative teams.
