DUSHANBE -- Command-staff counter-terrorism exercises ended in Sughd Province Friday (August 17), Avesta.tj reported, quoting the provincial government chairman's press office. The exercises began Tuesday (August 14).
The training took place in the Chorkhudaron military training ground, with security officials from the Sughd military garrison, government officials, reserve troops and officers, Defence Minister Sherali Mirzo and Sughd chairman Abdurakhmon Kodiri all participating.
Participants sharpened their skills in both theoretical and practical tasks, such as preparing documentation and firing rifles and tank cannons. Ten warplanes, about 200 tanks and 70 artillery pieces were involved.
