URALSK, Kazakhstan -- Kazakhstan is committed to preventing radicalisation, said Religious Affairs and Civil Society Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev Wednesday (November 15), according to his ministry's press office, as reported by Kazinform.
Yermekbayev gave those remarks at an Uralsk conference on religion and national history, which the West Kazakhstan provincial government organised.
The minister outlined the history of religion in Kazakhstan, stressing the importance of tolerance.
Attendees included West Kazakhstan Akim (Governor) Altai Kulginov, officials from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, clerics and theologians.
