Kyrgyz, Kazakhstani leaders sign border demarcation treaty


ASTANA -- Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov and Kazakhstani counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a number of agreements in Astana Tuesday (December 26), including a border demarcation treaty, reported the Astana Times.

Jeenbekov conducted a two-day official visit to Astana Monday (December 25) and Tuesday.

The two countries had border disputes dating back to the Soviet era.

"There are no issues that Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan cannot resolve", said Nazarbayev, according to his press office.
