BISHKEK -- All Kyrgyz 5th- and 6th-grade pupils are set to receive new textbooks by the 2018-2019 academic year, according to the Ministry of Education and Science, 24.kg reported Tuesday (February 27).
The Kyrgyz government, aided by the World Bank, soon will issue more than 3 million copies of the new textbooks.
Officials have also begun work on new mathematics and natural science textbooks for 7th- and 8th-grade pupils in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank.
About 83% of Kyrgyz schoolchildren received new textbooks last year, according to the ministry.
