BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz Prime Minister Muhammedkaly Abylgaziyev Monday (April 23) reported early for his first day of work, refusing an accompanying motorcade to get there, 24.kg reported.

Parliament confirmed Abylgaziyev's appointment by President Sooronbai Jeenbekov with a 114-1 vote Friday (April 20). Abylgazyiyev replaced Sapar Isakov, whose government fell Thursday (April 19) after losing a no-confidence vote.

Abylgaziyev arrived without a motorcade at about 7.30am for work, witnesses told 24.kg.

The new prime minister Saturday (April 21) instructed the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) to take away his bodyguards and official escorts, 24.kg learned from Abylgaziyev's office.

The prime minister also refused an offer to resurface the road between his residence and his workplace, according to his office.
