DUSHANBE -- The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), with the financial support of the Japanese embassy in Dushanbe, opened a new border post in Tajikistan along its border with Afghanistan, Asia-Plus reported Monday (May 7).
The Tagnob border post was inaugurated during a ceremony Saturday (May 5).
The Tagnob border outpost is the eighth facility built with UNODC support along Tajikistan's 1,344-km common border with Afghanistan.
The outposts are part of an UNODC project aimed at strengthening control along the Tajik-Afghan border that began in 1999.
