TASHKENT -- Uzbekistani President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set make a three-day visit to the United States next week, UzDaily reported Thursday (May 10).
Mirziyoyev's first official visit to Washington is scheduled for May 15-17.
He plans to confer with officials from the US Department of Defence and the World Bank and with members of Congress. During the high-level talks, Mirziyoyev will discuss potential US-Uzbekistan co-operation and international and regional issues
Officials from the United States and Uzbekistan are expected to sign a package of co-operation agreements covering various fields and to adopt a joint statement titled, "Uzbekistan and the United States of America: The Beginning of a New Era of Strategic Partnership".
Mirziyoyev led a business delegation to New York last September.
