Kyrgyz authorities uncover 8 suspected terrorism financing cases in 2017


BISHKEK -- Kyrgyzstan's State Financial Intelligence Service (GSFR) found eight cases of suspected terror financing in 2017, according to the agency chairman, reported.

Last year, the agency carried out 141 financial intelligence operations, which led to 11 criminal cases, said GSFR director Aibek Kadyraliyev Tuesday (June 5) at a session of the parliamentary committee on law and order, organised crime and corruption.

The agency forwarded eight cases to the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) and the Interior Ministry on suspicion of financing terrorism and extremism, he said.
