BISHKEK -- The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has set up a new department to handle cyber-security, 24.kg reported.
Tolkunbek Abdygulov, the chairman of the bank, informed parliament Monday (June 11) of the new Cyber-Security Department.
The new department is working in close co-operation with the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) to protect the banking system from cyber-threats, Abdygulov said.
It is necessary to protect the bank's electronic system and customer data from digital attacks, he said.
