Uzbekistan, Afghanistan discuss co-operation

KABUL -- Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Sunday (July 8) in Kabul conferred on trade and security with an Uzbek government delegation led by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, according to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

Ghani and Kamilov discussed the countries' relations and major joint projects on transport, communications and trade.

They also exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and the region, according to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

The officials covered the implementation of agreements reached during Ghani's official visit to Uzbekistan last December.

The two sides reaffirmed an agreement to open an Afghan consulate in Termez, Uzbekistan.
