ASTANA -- A delegation from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and members of the legal department of the US Embassy in Astana met with top Kazakh anti-corruption officials Tuesday (August 28) in the nation's capital, Kazinform reported.
Alik Shpekbayev, chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption, discussed with FBI Deputy Director David Bowdich and other members of the US delegation issues and co-operation in fighting corruption.
Shpekbayev discussed Kazakhstan's civil service reforms as well as priorities and prospects in developing his agency.
Bowdich briefed Shpekbayev on the FBI's activities, with a focus on anti-corruption efforts.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of personnel from Shpekbayev's agency receiving training at the FBI Academy.
