TURKISTAN, Kazakhstan -- Volunteers from the United States have arrived in Kazakhstan as part of an English teaching programme, Kazinform reported Tuesday (October 2).
Under the Kazakh government's "English for Zhastar" (English for the Youth) programme, volunteers from the United States and Great Britain will teach English at rural schools throughout the country.
The first two teachers -- Marco Perez and Katherine Elliot from the United States -- have already arrived in Turkistan Province, where they will spend two months teaching English to children in Tasaryk and Taukent villages.
