PARIS -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Monday-Tuesday (October 8-9) visited France for talks, Mirziyoyev's press office said in a statement Tuesday.
The visit, made at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, is Mirziyoyev's first to an European Union (EU) member state.
Officials from the two countries signed 10 agreements, according to Mirziyoyev's press office.
The two presidents' talks centred on economic matters, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Uzbek service.
Both presidents also stressed the need to stabilise Afghanistan in order to ensure peace and calm in the region, said the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.
