BISHKEK -- The US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan is set to donate equipment to the Kyrgyz prosecutor general's office (PGO) in Bishkek Tuesday (October 30), according to an embassy statement.
The donation, worth about $20,000 (1.3 million KGS), will include classroom and office computers, projectors and other equipment. It is meant for the PGO's training centre.
The State Department's INL programme has provided more than $25 million (1.7 billion KGS) in technical assistance and material support to Kyrgyzstan since 2001, said the statement.
Such support is meant to augment counter-narcotics operations, the rule of law, police reform and community policing, and efforts against corruption and against human trafficking, it added.
