NARYN PROVINCE -- Kyrgyzstan's State Committee for National Security (GKNB) on Thursday (June 20) arrested six suspected members of the banned extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT), 24.kg reported.
Personnel from the GKNB and Interior Ministry searched the residences of the six suspects in At-Bashy District, Naryn Province.
Authorities found and seized HT literature, a rifle and ammunition, a laptop, phones and subscriber identity module (SIM) cards.
The suspects face charges under the Criminal Code article on "creation of an extremist organisation", said the GKNB.
