OSH/NOVOPOKROVKA, Kyrgyzstan -- The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Programme Office in Bishkek organised five-day training courses on the verification and recognition of falsified documents for 32 Kyrgyz State Border Service personnel across the country, the OSCE said on its website Friday (June 21).

The training on June 10-14 in Osh and Monday-Friday (June 17-21) in Novopokrovka was led by two specialists -- Aliaksandr Lazitski and Mikhail Skachkou -- from Regula, a Belarusian firm that specialises in the production of document-verifying devices.

The pair presented various methods for forging documents and banknotes, verifying documents and banknotes' authenticity and using modern technical devices for verification.

"The content of the training is crucially relevant and important in view of external threats to Kyrgyzstan's security, such as terrorism," said Lazitski.
