WASHINGTON, DC -- Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov conferred on security and other issues with US national security adviser John Bolton Wednesday (July 17) in Washington, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"Excellent meeting today with Uzbekistan's FM Kamilov. We discussed a wide range of common interests and how to best advance our partnership," tweeted Bolton.
"We applaud Uzbek reforms and their positive impact on all of Central Asia and look forward to deepening US-Uzbek co-operation," he said.
Topics included the strategic partnership that the two sides launched with a joint statement in May 2018. The US side praised Uzbekistan for its efforts to stabilise Afghanistan, according to the Foreign Ministry.
