DUSHANBE -- Tajik Interior Minister Ramazon Rakhimzoda Tuesday (July 23) in Dushanbe summarised the country's fight against extremism in the first half of 2019, according to a statement by the Interior Ministry (MVD).
Tajik law enforcement in that period arrested 97 suspected terrorists, he said.
In addition, the police solved 226 terrorist crimes and 378 extremist crimes, Rakhimzoda said, adding that one terrorist act and two attempted terrorist acts occurred.
The MVD persuaded 169 Tajiks who had been fighting abroad as extremists to come home during that period, he said.
