Uzbekistan, Tajikistan deepen military co-operation


TASHKENT -- The security councils of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan inked a memorandum of co-operation in Tashkent on combating terrorism and extremism, Tashkent Times reported Thursday (September 19), citing the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA).

The two countries also signed measures aimed at deepening and expanding security co-operation.

Uzbek and Tajik security officials held consultations in Tashkent a day earlier on border security, protection of the economic interests of the two countries and joint measures to combat extremist and terrorist activities.
