BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz authorities June 20 detained a man suspected of plotting to carry out terrorist acts in Kyrgyzstan, the State National Security Committee (GKNB) said in a statement June 24.
The suspect, A. T., born in 1995 and a Kyrgyz national, was trying to enter Kyrgyzstan when authorities arrested him, the GKNB said. It did not specify the location of his arrest.
The suspect had received combat training and fought in Syria, the GKNB added.
