KOKSHETAU, Kazakhstan -- Kazakhstani forces Wednesday (May 3) held counter-terrorism exercises in Akmola Province, the Counter-Terrorism Committee of Kazakhstan reported, quoting a provincial police statement.
The exercises are meant to "develop the inter-action of relevant government agencies that belong to the Akmola Operational Staff for Fighting Terrorism", the police said in a statement.
The relevant agencies are seeking to maintain a state of permanent readiness for terrorist acts, according to the police.
